W Bro Alun Littlejohns presents a generous cheque to Captain Karen Symonds

The annual Trevor Kelway Lodge Christmas Celebrations to raise money for the Llanelli branch of the Salvation Army returned on Saturday 10th December 2022. The event was cancelled in 2020 & 2021 for obvious reasons.

The evening started with a Mulled Wine Reception hosted by the current Worshipful Master, W Bro Alun Littlejohns. Brethren present included the Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro James Ross and the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VW Bro Ryland James.

Following the mulled wine all those present went into the Lodge Room for a delightful mixture of carol singing, poetry reading and Christmas story telling. The music was provided by a brass ensemble provided by the Salvation Army, who played just loud enough to drown out the worst of the singing!

At the end of the festivities downstairs everyone retired to the dining room for a wonderful bowl of Festive Cawl, followed by trifle, not forgetting the Christmas Crackers.

Each table had a sheet of Christmas quiz questions and the prize was won, perhaps not surprisingly, by the Salvation Army contingent.

A generous cheque and a large number of Christmas presents were donated to the Salvation Army for onward transmission to less fortunate children in the Llanelli area.
