Abergwaun Chapter Claim Travelling Altar

Members of the Abergwaun Chapter 3152 visited Teifi Chapter 4648 on the 24th November 2023 to claim the travelling Altar. There was an outstanding ceremony of exaltation followed by a delightful Festive Board. The travelling Altar is now in Fishguard and a warm welcome is extended to those who wish to claim the Altar at the next regular meetings in March, May or September.

Editor's Note: Companions the travelling altar was presented to the Province in 2019 by the Deputy Grand Superintendent, however, due to Covid, it has, so far only travelled 122 miles from Llanelli via Carmarthen to Aberystwyth where it remained for two years, and recently to Cardigan and now Fishguard.

The purpose of the travelling altar is to encourage visiting within the Royal Arch Province of West Wales.  The rules are very simple, at least three companions from a Chapter have to visit the meeting and attend the Festive Board, they are then able to lay claim to the altar.

As Abergwaun's next meeting is their installation, the altar cannot be claimed, but on the fourth Wednesday in March it is up for grabs. It is not too early to start planning a visit to secure this prestigious item, if only for a short while.  Your Chapter's name will appear on the Roll of Honour for a lot longer.
