Peterwell At The Show

Normal service has been resumed. After the enforced break during the past two years, on Saturday July 3rd Peterwell Lodge once again had a stand at the Lampeter Agricultural Show.

Keith Edwards, Andrew Carter, and Dave Smith arrived bright and early to get set up under a gazebo kindly loaned by W Bro Dr David Ashton. As always, the purpose of the stand was to inform the public what Freemasons do for the local community, the province, nationally and internationally. This year we made the “Teddies for Loving Care” initiative our main theme and held a free Name the Bear competition.

The stand was well received, and we had a steady flow of visitors throughout the day. We met several brethren from other Provinces who have connections to Lampeter so Peterwell could be having a few visitors in the Autumn. Did we find any prospective candidates? Time will tell so we will just have to wait and see.

All in all, it was a very worthwhile day out and something that every Lodge could consider doing. As a follow up to the Show, Peterwell Lodge is holding an Open Afternoon on Saturday 23rd of July between 13.30 and 16.00.  If you are in the area, please drop in to see us.  There could well be tea and biscuits.
