Presentation to Carmarthen's Prize-fighter Gym

Provincial Grand Master R.W. Bro. A. James Ross delivered a few knockout punches recently during the presentation of £2,500 to Kevin Evans former Wales’ Commonwealth Heavyweight champion at the Prize-fighter Gym in Carmarthen.

The funds will be used to help purchase much needed new equipment to support the increasing numbers of Carmarthen’s youth who now regularly train and exercise at the gym. The gym has helped produce several young champions, including Callum Evans who achieved Gold at the British Youth Championships in 2010 and Silver at the Youth Commonwealth Games, and Storm Evans who won the Women's English Boxing Cup in 2022 together with several Welsh Elite Champions.

The gym not only caters for the youth, but opens its facilities across all age groups from young to old, and you don’t need to come to box, as many come just to exercise, keep fit, and to socialise which benefits the whole community fitting in well with Masonic ethos of youth development.
