In an ideal world, everyone should have a home where they can thrive. But the world isn’t ideal, and that’s where Hafan Cymru comes in. Hafan Cymru was started more than thirty years ago to help people living in fear of domestic abuse. Today, they are there for anyone looking for support to help build themselves a brighter future and to live well.

On Wednesday 22nd December 2021, W Bros Eryl Thomas and Dario Algieri were delighted to present £300 in Tesco vouchers to Amy Hancock, Senior Support Worker at Hafan Cymru, Haverfordwest. In addition to the vouchers, they also presented 10 Teddies for Loving Care Bears. The work of TLC is funded through the generous donations of Freemasons, their families, and supporters of the programme. Many Freemasons also volunteer hundreds of hours each year to manage the scheme, deliver bears, campaign to raise funds and increase awareness through events and talks.

Of the vouchers, £250 was donated by Cambrian Lodge and when the management at Tesco were told why the Lodge was buying the vouchers, they added the additional £50.

Also present in support of the presentation was RW Bro James Ross, Head of West Wales Freemasons. In a rare camera-shy moment, the PGM took one pace backward and volunteered to take the photo.

James Ross said “I’m delighted to be here today in support of this wonderful donation to Hafan Cymru. I would like to thank W Bros Dario and Eryl for all their hard work to organise the vouchers and the bears.”

“I would also like to thank Amy for her time and her insights into the marvellous work done by Hafan Cymru.”
