On the 16th May the staff working on the DAV (Dedicated Ambulance Vehicle) based at Withybush Hospital, were presented with TLC (Teddies for Loving Care) to use when transferring sick and unwell children and babies to help comfort and calm them en route to Glangwilli Hospital to receive further care or treatment.
The DAV has been in service since the downgrading of Paediatric services in Withybush Hospital which is funded by the Health Board and staffed by Paramedics from The Welsh Ambulance Service.
The work of TLC is funded through the generous donations of Freemasons and their families. Many Freemasons also volunteer hundreds of hours each year to manage the scheme, deliver bears to hospitals, campaign to raise funds and increase awareness through events.
