John Bevan Celebrates 50 Years in Craft Masonry
It was with great pleasure that W Bro Tony Trumper had been given the honour by the Provincial Grand Master to carry out this presentation to
W bro John at Aeron Lodge's meeting on Thursday 26th February.
W Bro John was born on the 24th March 1953 at Middlesex Hospital London and at the tender age of three months the family
moved to Llanglydwen, Efail Fach Crymych. His early years education was at Pantycaws, Felinfach and Abermad before moving onto secondary education at Llandovery College.
At the age of seventeen he started employment at Lloyds Bank in Lampeter, and whilst there he had the opportunity to spend time at various
branches around Cardiganshire.
Then in 1979 the call of motorcars was in his system and he started work with Evan Lloyd Garage in Llanrhystud. It was here that he
realised that this was his future and after six years decided to go it alone and started his own business based in Felinfach.
In 1990 he married Margaret and have one son Rhodri and have one grandson and two granddaughters. W Bro John's father, W Bro Cyril Bevan,
joined the Aeron Lodge in 1959 and went on to become its sixteenth Master in 1967. It was not surprising that when W Bro John started his masonic career at the age of twenty two it would be at the
Aeron Lodge following in his father’s footsteps.
On the 26th February 1976, yes exactly 50 years ago today he were initiated into the Lodge, passed on the
28th April 1977 and raised on the 23rd November 1978. He progressed through the various offices in the Lodge and was Installed into the Chair of King Solomon in 1987
exactly twenty years after his Father and then he was appointed to the rank of PProvGSwdB, in the Province of West Wales.
W Bro John it is with immense pleasure on behalf of myself, the Provincial Grand Master, and of course Aeron Lodge, that I present you with
this badge and Certificate to mark 50 years as a member of the Craft and the Aeron Lodge and wish you many more years of good health to enjoy your freemasonry.
