Mackworth Club AGM 2026

The AGM of the Mackworth Club was held at Carmarthen Masonic Hall on Saturday 25th July at 11.00 a.m. A large number of light blues and honorary dark blues were in attendance when the meeting was officially called to order by the secretary and officially opened by the Chairman.

Each member of the executive presented their annual reports detailing what had happened during the year from their perspective. The next item on the agenda was to propose and vote on three prospective honorary members, being Alun Littlejohn (Asst. PGM), Rhodri Evans (Prov. Sec.), and Phil Hall (Prov. Treasurer). The executive of the Province have always been keen supporters of the Light Blues Club and the honour was being bestowed to recognise that support in the past and hopefully well into the future. The proposition was passed unanimously.

Then came the main item on the agenda, selecting a new Chairman for the coming year, there being only one name put forward, Keith Hancock of Castlemartin Lodge, the outgoing Chairman declared that in the absence of any other propositions the named brother would become |Chairman for the ensuing year. As the new Chairman could not attend the meeting due to family commitments the secretary read out a statement from the new Chairman thanking the members and pledging his best efforts for the year.

Since the meeting, the new Chairman has confirmed the reappointment of all officers.

The meeting was then closed before the guest of honour (Shaun Butler, director of communications and membership) was invited to speak about his journey in Freemasonry and his role within UGLE. As a thank you for his enjoyable and interesting talk Shaun was invited to become an honorary member of the club, which he of course accepted.

The bulk of the members present went on to enjoy a pleasant meal and a few beers at the Jasmine Thai Restaurant.
