West Wales Freemasons Donate £59,800 to Llanelli Children's Charity

On Friday 12th December a small group of West Wales Freemasons travelled to CYCA Headquarters in North Dock, Llanelli to make the official presentation of £59, 800 given by the Masonic Charitable Foundation on behalf of West Wales Freemasons.

CYCA - Connecting Youth, Children & Adults - is an independent charity providing different support services to children, young people and families, and they provide appropriate support streams through:

  • Social Prescription support for children and young people with emotional distress using trauma informed approaches.
  • CIW registered flying start nursery provisions.
  • Commissioned & Professional training, mentoring, and counselling.
  • Schoolwork provision
  • Develop partnership working with six primary schools in Llanelli offering a systemic model to support children, young people, and families.

In existence since 1980, they specialise in providing emotional health and well-being support for children, young people, and families through a range of projects and services, all with the ultimate aim of improving the lives of people they work with. Their emotional health and wellbeing centre of excellence brings together 40 years of experience working in this sector, promoting health and wellbeing.

Head of West Wales Freemasons James Ross, together with members of the Provincial Team also visited one of the nurseries where the money for their “Thrive” Project is to be utilised. CYCA had realised one age group had until now been overlooked and the project specifically aims to assist infants up to 5 years of age to receive the attention needed in their formative years.
