The West Wales 2026 Festival in favour of the Masonic Charitable Foundation raised over £5,000 by raffling some prizes that money can’t buy. They were donated by the Provincial Rulers who provided:

  1. PGM Cooks dinner for 6 people in your own home.
  2. The Deputy PGM takes you for a ride in his E-Type Jag and buys you Afternoon Tea.
  3. The Assistant PGM takes you for a spin in his Aston Martin.
  4. The Deputy Grand Superintendent will create you a bespoke piece of art.

The lucky winner of the first prize was Ben Williams, the Junior Warden of Aeron Lodge no 7208. Ben generously invited 4 other members of his lodge to join him at his lovely, but rather remote, farmhouse in the rolling countryside of Ceredigion.

The PGM had an eventful journey to the Abermeurig area, which included two delays for large flocks of sheep on the road and a rather nasty crash, where fortunately nobody was seriously injured.

Ben and the PGM had discussed and agreed the menu in the previous weeks which was Sautéed Chorizo with red wine, followed by Pollo Con Piñones (chicken with pine nuts), Cheesecake and cheese and biscuits. There are some photos of the food at the bottom of the page. During lockdown the PGM made a video of how to cook the chicken dish and you can watch that too (if you have a spare 12 minutes).

The PGM also provided 6 bottles of wine to jolly up the proceedings and he was delighted to be invited to join the brethren for dinner at the very large kitchen table in the picture immediately below.
