Strumble Lodge in Fishguard recently supported local efforts to raise funds for LATCH Welsh Children's Cancer Charity. W Bro Eurig Evans (on the right), Worshipful Master of Strumble Lodge, presented local vet Ryan Davies with a £500 cheque for LATCH. Ryan has been fundraising locally, including swimming 30 miles of coastline from Newport to Newquay. The support from Strumble Lodge will go towards the provision of iPads to children on the Rainbow Ward in the Oncology Unit at the Children's Hospital for Wales, Cardiff. This is especially important so children can keep in contact with loved ones. The Rainbow Ward is for children with cancer and leukaemia up to the age of 13, and the catchment area for the specialist Oncology Unit includes the counties of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.
LATCH Welsh Children's Cancer Charity supports children receiving treatment for cancer and leukaemia at the Children's Hospital for Wales. The support includes helping to keep families together during their child’s stay in hospital by providing accommodation and equipment. The Charity also has a caravan at Kiln Park in Tenby which is free to use for families to provide a touch of normality or a well needed escape from ongoing treatment.
