On Saturday, 21st June 2025 the focus of West Wales masonry became Narberth Masonic Hall and more particularly the Installation of Bro. David Stewart-Walvin into the chair of the Lodge.
For the first time in my memory and I think in the memory of most people in attendance this was the first occasion where the new provincial team have been brought into action before the summer break. The new team responded in style with an exceptionally large number turning up in their new collars and aprons to support the head of West Wales Freemasonry James Ross and his new wardens to oversee the installation of the incoming master.
Both of the Wardens delivered flawless addresses to the incoming Wardens and the remaining brethren of the Lodge, having been set an extremely high bar by the PGM himself in his address to the master.
Bro. David now W. Bro. David has had a number of momentous occasions in his Masonic career. At his initiation all the active offices were taken up by Grand Lodge Officers (see photo). An exceedingly rare sight as they tend to shy away from performing ritual as the expectation of the remainder of the brethren is extremely high and puts added pressure on them.
Today at his installation another first in the Province (we believe) where the working tools of each degree were delivered by Right Worshipful Brethren, namely the current and immediate two past Provincial Grand Masters.
There was also in attendance all but one of the living Provincial Grand Secretaries, Tony Trumper having decided to take a well-earned rest after overseeing the highly successful Provincial meetings during the week.
