Rhiannon Jensen O’Brien is the recipient of this year's Dr John B Lloyd Bursary. The award is given annually by the Provincial Grand Charity of the Masonic Province of West Wales to encourage worthy students to further their education and Rhiannon was selected this year because of her previous outstanding achievement. Rhiannon is pictured on the left being presented with a cheque for £1500 by Dr Ruth Wonfor, Lecturer in Animal and Equine Science MSc Livestock Science Scheme Co-ordinator.

Rhiannon achieved a first in BSc Countryside Conservation at Aberystwyth University and is now studying for an MSc in Environmental Management. Rhiannon is also secretary for the biochemistry society. She has a passion for volunteering to help the local community. Whilst in Aberystwyth she has been involved in Aberystwyth Conservation Volunteers (ACV), which involves improving the environment for everyone to enjoy. For the past month she has also been volunteering with Aberystwyth Organic Food Coop, packing and delivering food boxes to locals.
