James Ross, Head of the West Wales Freemasons along with Dirk den-Hartog Freemasons Charity Steward & Ian Brodie attended the VC Gallery in Pembroke Dock.
The idea of this visit was to make a presentation of £10,000 to a very worthy charity which provides a service that helps improve the welfare and support for armed forces veterans and the wider community.
When they arrived they were greeted with a very welcome cup of tea then had a fantastic tour of the facility finishing with an extremely tasty bowl of vegetarian chilli.
During the visit a whole host of activities and support network were enthusiastically shared.
Founded by Army veteran Barry John MBE in 2013, today's organisation has grown massively since its humble beginnings. It is supported by Steph Cross (Project Manager), Kevin Stanley, Josh Simmons (Military Peer Mentors), and a strong team of volunteers. From their two drop-in locations in Haverfordwest and Pembroke Dock, they offer help and support through creative active engagement to people of all ages, with mental and physical disabilities, and to those who may be suffering from social isolation.
The VC Gallery provides a service that helps improve the welfare and support for armed forces veterans and the wider community including workers from within the emergency services throughout Pembrokeshire, responding to their needs as quickly and efficiently as possible in an empathetic manner that engages with them, to support and assist with their particular needs.
James Ross Head of West Wales Freemasons, said:
“I’m really proud that West Wales Freemasons have been able to help The VC Gallery with their essential help for armed forces veterans and the wider community
including Blue Light workers from within our area. Whether it’s supporting people directly, or helping them to access vital services from other agencies or just providing a warm safe place with a
warm meal. The wonderful work of this charity has helped countless veterans and people from across the region.”
